We invite colleagues from across the region and around the world to join us for four days of world-class science, collaboration and connection.
Held from 16–19 November 2027 at the International Convention Centre Sydney, APFCP 2027 brings together surgeons, physicians, trainees, nurses and researchers to share the latest advances in coloproctology, colorectal surgery and stoma rehabilitation. We look forward to welcoming you to Sydney.

About APFCP
40 years of colorectal collaboration
The Asia Pacific Federation of Coloproctology was established 40 years ago to enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange among colorectal specialty organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. It promotes the development of colorectal surgery and research, addressing the unique challenges and advancements pertinent to the region.
The Annual Congress is the premier gathering in the field of colorectal surgery, stoma rehabilitation and related specialties, fostering collaboration, innovation and knowledge-sharing across the Asia-Pacific. It is held alongside the Asian Society of Stoma Rehabilitation (ASSR) Congress, which complements this mission by focusing on stoma rehabilitation and patient-centred care.

The APFCP2027 Organising Committee operates under the guidance of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), a proud member organisation of the Asia Pacific Federation of Coloproctology (APFCP). CSSANZ brings a wealth of experience to the Congress, having hosted the 2015 Congress, supported by its longstanding professional partnerships with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN). These collaborations underscore our commitment to fostering excellence in colorectal care and advancing multidisciplinary collaboration across the region.

CSSANZ — Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand
The Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand represents specialist colorectal surgeons across both countries, with over 400 members who have undertaken advanced training in colorectal surgery. CSSANZ promotes evidence-based practice, research and teaching, and the highest standards of patient care, and is the host society for APFCP 2027.
RACS — Royal Australasian College of Surgeons
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, supporting more than 7,100 surgeons and 1,300 trainees across nine specialties. RACS also supports surgical education and research throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
NZNOCSTN — College of Stomal Therapy Nursing (NZNO)
The College of Stomal Therapy Nursing is the recognised professional organisation for stomal therapy nurses in New Zealand, part of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO). It advances clinical excellence, education and research, and supports nurses and patients in stomal therapy across Aotearoa New Zealand.
AASTN — Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses
The Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses is the professional body representing stomal therapy nurses, dedicated to excellence and innovation in stomal therapy practice. Guided by its values of quality, respect, commitment and innovation, AASTN advances nursing practice and enhances care for people requiring stoma, wound or continence management.
APFCP — Asia Pacific Federation of Coloproctology
The Asia Pacific Federation of Coloproctology (APFCP) was established 40 years ago to enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange among colorectal specialty organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. It promotes the development of colorectal surgery and research, addressing the unique challenges and advancements pertinent to the region. Its Annual Congress is the premier gathering in colorectal surgery, stoma rehabilitation and related specialties, bringing together leading surgeons, clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals to share advances and strengthen professional networks.
ASSR — Asian Society of Stoma Rehabilitation
The Asian Society of Stoma Rehabilitation (ASSR) complements the APFCP's mission by focusing on stoma rehabilitation and patient-centred care. Its Congress is held alongside the APFCP Congress, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of colorectal care — from surgical innovations through to post-operative rehabilitation — and emphasising the culturally diverse needs of patients across the Asia-Pacific.
